Dub Taylor is Chief Operating Officer for the Texas PACE Authority - a nonprofit organization that advances Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) projects in Texas by administering a uniform commercial and industrial PACE program on behalf of local governments.
For more than three decades, Taylor has helped advance cost-effective, clean energy technology and policy through his work in the public sector. First, with the Texas Railroad Commission’s Alternative Fuels Research and Education Division, then leading the Texas State Energy Conservation Office under three State Comptrollers.
At the Federal level, Taylor served on and twice chaired the U.S. Department of Energy’s State Energy Advisory Board (STEAB). Originally appointed Chair by President George W. Bush’s Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman, he was again appointed to this role by former Energy Secretary and Texas Governor Rick Perry.
Prior to public service, Taylor’s private sector experience focused on commercial real estate leasing and property management, property appraisal and property tax consulting. He is a native of Dallas, attended the University of Texas at Austin and lives in Austin with his wife and basset hounds Daisy and Franklin – recent empty nesters with a son at Texas A&M and daughter at the University of Georgia.
Taylor also serves as Executive Director of the Energy Service Coalition, and on the Boards of PACENation, National Association of State Energy Officials Institute, Interstate Renewable Energy Council, Conservative Texans for Energy Innovation, and the Texas Solar Energy Society. He is also an active member of the Austin-San Antonio Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers.
