Speaker Bio
I am a second-generation Indigenous Mexican woman, dedicated to advancing climate justice and energy equity through grassroots organizing, community engagement, and policy advocacy. With over a decade of experience in community empowerment, and coalition-building, I have specialized in addressing the intersection of energy burdens, climate resilience, and the rights of marginalized communities.
My leadership in nonprofit organizing has led to impactful initiatives that directly address energy inequities, including increasing awareness and participation in local weatherization programs. My favorite project so far has been in the installation of free Mini Split heat pumps in energy-burdened households and collaborations with local governments on heat resilience projects. I am passionate about supporting communities to not only survive but thrive in the face of climate change.
I hold a degree in Management and Marketing, with over 10 years of leadership experience in program implementation, fundraising, and organizational strategy. Through strategic partnerships, education, and advocacy, I work to ensure that the voices of under-resourced populations are heard, their needs are met, and those impacted are at the forefront of decision-making processes.
