Speaker Bio
I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Drawn to buildings from the start, I began my career in construction. Over time I came to understand the environmental toll buildings have, from pollution to emissions, which led me to pursue a Certificate in Energy Systems while completing my Master’s.
Growing up in Lebanon, a country both energy scarce and heavily polluted, I was motivated to work in the public sector at the intersection of energy and climate. I now serve the City of Boston, where I see my role as a bridge between climate policy and building science. Today I work on the implementation of one of the nation’s leading building performance standards, the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO), through the Building Decarbonization Program, which helps building owners plan their path to net zero emissions by 2050.
