Joel Wool currently serves as the Deputy Administrator for Sustainability & Capital Transformation at the Boston Housing Authority (BHA), a position he has held since 2023. In this strategic capacity, Joel oversees sustainability initiatives, capital improvement projects, and procurement across BHA’s properties, helping to modernize public housing infrastructure while enhancing environmental performance. Prior to his current role, Joel Wool held several leadership positions at BHA, including serving as the Special Advisor for Policy and Planning and as Chief of Staff. Joel previously worked for the City of Boston and in the nonprofit sector on state energy policy. Joel holds a MA from Tufts University in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning. Beyond his official duties, he is active in civic life, including as a board member for his neighborhood health center and a local community land trust.
