Jared Rodriguez, Principal of Emergent Urban Concepts, has focused his efforts broadly on economic, technological, and social transformation in the built environment. Emergent Urban Concepts works with the private sector, municipalities and non-profit organizations in the Hudson Valley and New York City on issues related to sustainability, energy, urbanism and placemaking, transportation and economic development. For nearly a decade, Jared was Director of Energy and Sustainability at the LeFrak Organization where he led efforts in resiliency, energy conservation and master planning, infrastructure, policy and new project development. He is responsible for several large-scale, on-site distributed energy generation projects across a real estate portfolio of over 20 million square feet of commercial space and roughly 20,000 units of rental housing in New York, New Jersey, South Florida and on the West Coast. Jared is a graduate from Tufts University where he studied Civil Engineering, Architecture and Energy. He holds an M.S. in Real Estate Development from NYU. Jared currently serves on the New York State Carbon Neutral Buildings Roadmap Technical Advisory Group. He is an elected Trustee for the Village of Sleepy Hollow in New York, where he continually advocates for equitable and sustainable development in his community.
